As part of the hospital administration team, Kathy works closely with the Medical Director, staff veterinarians, and the rest of the team members to keep the hospital running smoothly while ensuring quality patient care and excellent client service.
Kathy believes that as a team, focusing on your pet's well-being will achieve the best results for you, our clients. We want to ensure that you receive the best possible experience before, during, and after your visit.
Kathy has a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology with Veterinary Science Application from Oregon State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the University of Maryland. In 2010, Kathy became a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) and joined West Gate Pet and Bird Hospital in April 2016. She enjoys working closely with all of our team members and sometimes you may see her cover a shift as a Client Service Representative or assist a Veterinary Assistant or Technician with patient care.
Kathy has a few pets of her own including Kiki (rescue) Lhasa Apso Mix, Honey aka "The Princess" (rescue) Shitzu, Loki an Australian Silky Terrier, and a Golden Retriever by the name of Kira. Kira is a member of the Golden Retriever Lifetime Study Program. This study is the largest, most comprehensive canine health study to identify the nutritional, environmental, lifestyle, and genetic risk factors for cancer and other diseases in dogs.
When not in the office, she loves hiking, gardening, experimenting with different styles of cooking, traveling, shell and stamp collecting, painting, and listening to music.
